Our lab is researching robotics and artificial legs, developing technology that creates more natural and active movement by seamlessly connecting humans and robots. Traditional wearable robots have been limited in how freely they can move based on the user’s intentions, so we are combining the central nervous system, wearable robots, and artificial prostheses into one integrated system that naturally operates according to the user's intent and provides immediate feedback. Our ultimate goal is to use our research in lower limb movement control to help amputees lead more active and independent lives, ultimately enhancing individual independence and quality of life and contributing to a society where everyone has the right to pursue happiness.
